(PT) Este blogue publica, entre outros temas, fotos de edifícios característicos nos estilos de arquitectura Art Deco, Modernista (Streamline Moderne) e/ou Futurista construídos na cidade de Maputo (ex Lourenço Marques), capital de Moçambique, entre os anos 1930 e
1950. Este foi um período de notável grandeza de ideias, atenção ao detalhe, subtileza e
graciosidade na arquitectura comum. Espero assim contribuir para o melhor reconhecimento das construções nestes estilos em África. As fotos originais foram tiradas de 2011 a 2013. Muitas imagens complementares foram obtidas da net.
(ENG) This blog is publishing, among other subjects, photos of vintage buildings in the architectural styles Art Deco, Modernist (Streamline Moderne) and Futurist built in the city of Maputo (ex Lourenço Marques), capital of Mozambique, between the years 1930 and 1950. This was a period of time where a remarkable grandeur of ideas, of attention to detail, of subtlety and of grace were part of common architecture. We hope this blog will contrubute to a better awareness about the prevalence of these styles in Africa. The original pictures were shot between 2011 and 2013. Many complementary pictures have been downloaded from the net.
